Quadra Island’s singer/songwriter Sydney Williams  received her first piano from The Make A Wish Foundation and has been writing her own music ever since. Blind from the age of three from  leukemia, Sydney never let challenges  interfere with her dream. She sang in the choir in elementary school, performed acapella at various talent shows and took formal  vocal training at the age of 11. As a teenager  she took guitar lessons and piano theory, advancing her song writing abilities.  At 19 she recorded her first solo album, Three Hundred Feet, and her  second solo album, Glow in her early 20’s. Both with music producer, Corwin Fox. She says that her inspiration for her song writing comes from life and love.

In 2010 she created  the group, The Undercurrents  with her childhood friend and drummer, Alex Nacci. They played together as a two piece for several years with guest appearances from their friends and fellow musicians, Chelsea D.E. Johnson, Adam Farnsworth, and Jeff Andrew. Recording their EP, Hole in The Wall a few years after  starting the group. Then in 2019 they added bassist, Zane Shannon and recorded their first full-length album, The Undercurrents with producer, Corwin Fox.  The band’s refreshing and natural rhythms combined with William’s uplifting vocals has created a very  distinct and unique sound.
